Profile
Suksasart Demonstration School is one of the demonstration school of Khon Kaen University. This school is
located at Amphoe Mueang Khon Kaen, Chang Wat
Khon Kaen 40002, Thailand. This school includes Firstly School and Secondary School. The Demonstration
School of Khon Kaen University was started at its present location in 1976.
Presently the school has students in six levels from Mathayom 1 (Grade 7) to Mathayom 6 (Grade
12). There are six classes for each level, with a total of 36 classes,
comprising a total student population of 1,227 students.
The school aims to produce the students to acquire the academic achievements,
leadership, morality, good quality, and develop students for competing in
international standards.
Now,
the administration team from the school: Mrs. Saowaluk Jaosakul, Assistant Director of the
Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University Mrs. Nittaya Shotikam, Assistant
Director for administration and human development. Mrs. Pornpawit Punyasit,
Head of Academic Services. Mr Supanut Siri-aisoon, Head of Student Development
Mrs. Janjira sai saeng, Head of Planning and Quality Control.
Academic
Support System
The
academic support system of this school has 6 building for academic activity, building 1 is for teachers room and
office, in another building there are an office room for each division and subject,
science laboratory for biology and
chemistry, physical science room, library, school
clinics, chapel, conselor room, hall, gymnastium, photocopy room, canteen, toilet for teachers and students and schoolyard to support all the students and teachers
activities. The school also
has the yard for basketall, volleyball, soccer and tennis court. The school
also provides extra-curricular activities, such as students project for each
department, club time, student leader group, scout, lesson project, basketball,
softball, music group, choir,
and others. For intensive
class, the student use laboratory in faculty of science for practicum.
Teaching
System
Active days in Suksasart Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University are
five days, Monday till Friday. Every morning the students have an assembly
morning such a flag ceremony, praying and meditation. The ceremony started at
08.00 a.m and the lesson started at 08.40 a.m and the school end at 04.25 p.m.
Teaching
system in this school use approach, method and model for every meeting of the
lesson. The system is student-centered learning which teacher acts as a facilitator to
teach students and students will be able to explore and improve their
knowledge and skills. Teachers can give a lesson inside and outside the class
depend on the method of the lesson. Furthermore, teacher and students are
active side each other.
Materials
and Other Learning Sources
This
school use a triple system for Science Subject to study, that are Biology,
Chemistry, and Physics. Teachers must have to make a lesson plan for every
meeting. The materials that teacher use to teach are slide
presentation, video presentation, worksheet and others. The learning source can also use gadget or smartphone
for the students, it can
improve student’s knowledge using discovery learning method in some condition. The teachers use a various learning sources to teach, such
as text book, electronic book, and education websites. Every classes have facilities such white board, LCD projector, air conditioner (AC) and fan.
Measurement
and Evaluation System
School activity divided into two terms for one year. For each meetings teachers
can use
worksheet, assignment, and
quiz for measurements and evaluation. Teacher will give an exam after the class finish one topic
for a subject, and final examination for student is at the end of each terms. Teacher also use laboratory activity after the lesson for
each topics.
Curriculum
The
school has two curriculum for Mathayoms 1
(Grades 7) – 6 (Grades 12). The first curriculum
is based on the students' ability, potential, and interest. Three classes from
each level follow this curriculum. 2. The second curriculum is aimed at
developing the students' potential in science and technology. Three classes
from each level follow this curriculum. curnicu As for Mathayoms 4-6, or Grades 10-12,
the school has one more curriculum which is science-based in conjunction with
the university. It is also called the Wor-Mor Wor, or SCIUS program. One class
from each level follow this curriculum.

Plan
Teaching
plan in this school, especially in Science, teachers should have to make a
lesson plan every meeting. Well-planned lessons or teaching plan includes standard of learning, core concept to summary the topic, learning objectives, learning assessment, learning content,
learning procedure and activity,
material used, assignment, evaluation that match with learning objectives, and
reflection or comments for the lesson plan after class finished.
